Bandicoots spend their days sleeping in concealed shallow burrows, lined with leaves and grasses. At night they forage for insects and plants. They create characteristic conical holes by inserting their long snouts in holes dug with their forefeet.
Females have 8 teats, but mostly produce a litter of two or three. Although Bandicoots are highly reproductive usually only 20% survive, the balance falling prey to cats, foxes and human interference.
Average dimensions of the Wildlings are 65 mm x 45 mm.
