Green Tree Frog

....sheltering in false sarsparilla

Litoria caerulea

Frogs’ comical and enigmatic facial expressions never fail to bring a smile to everyone’s face. Green Tree Frogs live in various habitats and are typically found in the canopy of trees near freshwater sources. They feed on large quantities of mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches and moths, and so play an important role in natural insect control.

Their habitat is often threatened by forestry operations. Like all frog species, they are highly sensitive to insecticides and herbicides, particularly aerial spraying.

Average dimensions of the Wildlings are 65 mm x 45 mm.
