Common Brushtail Possum

....with Joey

Trichosurus vulpecula

The Brushtail are the best known of all Possums, having become ‘squatters’ in urban areas. Their prehensile tails and formidable claws make them spectacular climbers, which enables them access to peoples’ roofs. Like most marsupials they are nocturnal and their noisy nightly movements - sounding like a soccer game taking place in your attic - have made them unpopular with house occupants.

These Possums are starting to disappear from their former ranges and frequently fall prey to cats, dogs and cars.

Average dimensions of the Wildlings are 65 mm x 45 mm.
